Budget 2018: What do home buyers want from the finance minister

Since Budget 2018 is around the corner, the air is thick with expectations. We spoke to home buyers and visitors at our sites to get their views on what they expect from the upcoming Union Budget 2018.

"While the Government offers subsidies for properties below Rs. 50 lakhs, there are no subsidies for homes which exceed this value" - Phani Chal.

"PMAY is a great initiative for individuals earning an annual income less than Rs.19 lakhs. Homebuyers would find it very helpful if this income bracket was increased to include other income groups" - Mr. Julep.

"Tax-exemptions for first-time homebuyers should be a part of Budget 2018. Raising the limit on subsidies to properties above Rs.50 lakhs would also encourage more people to invest in real estate" - Vipin.
