6 Ways to do the Architecture of a House or Office

Architecture has and shall always be thought of creativity. Design depends on the need of the client, bylaws and local area requirements

Basically the office buildings are large and have more open spaces. The design flows based on client requirement of space, number of people occupying the office, the wash room required, other indoor activities that are planned and engineering spaces that may be required.

Green buildings play a major role in design of the office which has a direct effect on the facade.  It is normally designed for natural light hence large glass panels and less block work.

Open spaces are provided looking at bylaws and lawns /activity that may play big role in the site planning. 

Different ways of office design can be as follows:

1. Large building areas, road network as per by laws 

2. Large open lawns, path ways and increase the height of the building to achieve the required office space 

3. Give more importance to surface parking, avoid basements to reduce the cost 

4. If the plot is small then provide  open court yards in the building for light and ventilation as we do not have space for lawns expect for set back as per law 

5. Use different shades of glass and ACP to give grand look to the facade and balance brick work in case of small sites 

In case of houses the parameters that govern the design depend on the locality, layout, other building around this area and bylaws:

1. Architecture can be theme based like Indian, Mediterranean or any other part of the world.

2. The building can be single or multi storied

3. The number of rooms, kitchen and toilets depend on the occupants that the client expects 

4. Facade normally depends on if car parking is provided in front of the house or basement ids provided.

5. In large sites there is space to provide central court yard, front sitting areas and back gardens 

6   In smaller sites we have restricted space hence design generally is multi stored

7. Vastu plays a big role in house design along with light and ventilation 

8. House is normally private in taste and design is more client thought process driven 

Architects in many cases have a great creativity and with the limited available space considering many parameters try to keep the cost in mind which is a biggest challenge in Design.
